This dish serves as a shallow bowl or deep plate. It has beach sand — from the Salmon Cove Sands, Newfoundland — swirled into the porcelain clay. It has been glazed on the inside with a clear glaze to showcase the sand. The rim is glazed with a beautiful blue crystalline.

In addition, this dish has a blue underglaze beneath the crystalline glaze, giving it an exceptionally deep hue.

Approximately 24 centimetres from rim to rim and about 4 centimetres tall. It has a depth of about 2.5-3 centimetres.
