Starfish and sea urchins are related! They are both echinoderms; meaning that they have five-pointed radial symmetry, like stars!

Sea Urchin Designs:
These pieces all have impressions from sea urchin shells stamped into the clay. The species of sea urchin local to Newfoundland is the "Green Sea Urchin", so naturally most of these pieces are glazed green like the shells that line our beaches.

Sea Star Designs:
Alexis made a stamp using the impression of a sea star (sea stars are much more fragile and much more rare to find intact than sea urchins). These pieces are generally glazed blue like the ocean.
