This small plate has beach sand from Sandy Point Beach in Lawn, Newfoundland swirled into the porcelain clay surface.  

Approximately 17 centimetres from rim to rim, clear glaze.

Party Plates started as a warm-up exercise. Whenever I have a day at the wheel, I start by making six small plates - but repetition has never been my strong suit and these bread and butter plates evolved! With a variety of surfaces and textures - often involving beach sand, I think these plates are fun and ideal for entertaining.
