The fruit of blood oranges are brilliant reds, fiery oranges and hot pinks, all the colours of a vivid Winter sunset. The pigments (rare in citrus) develop at cooler temperatures when the fruit is growing at night.
Blood oranges have a drippy, ripe orange flavour with a hint of raspberry—paired with dark chocolate, it’s mind blowing. The chocolate is Dream Machine, a dark chocolate we make with cacao beans from our favourite farms and growing regions. Just add heat to make a rich, melty hot chocolate that will wake your sniffer and taste buds up fully.
It’s easy to make. For 2 servings...
Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil in small saucepan. Add 6 tablespoons of dry mix. Reduce heat to a simmer and whisk until thick and smooth. This is your liquid chocolate.
Serve 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate “as is” in a shot glass for an intense shot.
For a traditional mug, add 3/4 cup of warm milk or hot water to 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate.
