Pinch Pot Puddle #N2264

Alexis Templeton

$35.00

This small, deep pinch pot puddle measures about 8-9 centimetres in diameter. A beach rock from Lance Cove Beach, Upper Gullies , Newfoundland was was used to support the thin porcelain clay as it dried.

Pinch Pots are one of the simplest pottery forms.  Alexis combines one of the simplest forms with one of the most complex glazes in creating this design. Porcelain clay is "pinched" into a bowl shape and then laid to rest on a beach rock while it dries.  The crystalline glaze pools in the bottom of the bowl to look like a puddle of water and ice.
