This dinner plate is about 26 centimetres across and features beach sand collected in Burgeo, Newfoundland. Layered across the centre is Alexis' blue crystalline glaze, with clear glaze over the rim to showcase the sand. 

The sand collected from this beach is magnetic from high iron content, giving a very dark and sometimes even metallic look.
