This small plate has beach sand from Tilting, Fogo Island, Newfoundland swirled into the porcelain clay surface.  

Approximately 17 centimetres from rim to rim, clear glaze.

Party Plates started as a warm-up exercise. Whenever I have a day at the wheel, I start by making six small plates - but repetition has never been my strong suit and these bread and butter plates evolved! With a variety of surfaces and textures - often involving beach sand, I think these plates are fun and ideal for entertaining.
