Black beach sand from Western Beach, Burgeo, Newfoundland was swirled into the porcelain clay as it was thrown on the wheel. The sand collected from this beach is magnetic from high iron content, giving a very dark and sometimes even metallic look. It has been glazed with a clear glaze to showcase the sand. The inner rim is glazed with a beautiful blue crystalline.
