This pinch pot puddle measures about 12-13 centimetres in diameter. The ball of porcelain clay was pinched into a bowl shape and rested to dry on a beach rock from Lance Cove Beach, Upper Gullies, CBS, Newfoundland.
Pinch Pots are one of the simplest pottery forms. Alexis combines one of the simplest forms with one of the most complex glazes in creating this design. Porcelain clay is "pinched" into a bowl shape and then laid to rest on a beach rock while it dries. The crystalline glaze pools in the bottom of the bowl to look like a puddle of water and ice.
