I like that clay fights back. It's not like knitting or drawing, where the finished product is entirely your own doing. Clay has its own ideas about what shape it wants to be, how thick or thin it wants to get, and even what colour it ends up.

This year Maaike sent us 18 "Maaike's Garden" mugs and cups in swirled pink and white porcelain.
Gardening in Newfoundland can be a tad challenging. The Rock isn’t known for rich soil or a long growing season. Maaike NEEDS a way to garden and stare at beautiful blossoms year round. When she isn’t digging in the dirt, you will find her daydreaming and decorating in the studio. In this collection, we capture her love of sunny days spent amongst the flowers.
